New Project.

January 12th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

This month is turning into a very busy one. I am preparing for a show and exhibition in upstate New York, continuing my series of portraits, and I have added another project onto my plate. This new project is influenced by my love of Charley Harper, and my not so secret love of design. I also have always loved to draw animals and in a sense this book I will be making is intended for children. I have never been in love making anything sequential so this project will be perfect for me. Each painting will be a new animal(s) placed strategically onto the page to create some strong designs. These are some ink sketches I have done.

I’ve gone too far. I inked a badly drawn hand and just decided to paint over it completely, thinking it might be some coool abstract component. Well no it wasn’t an attractive decision so I shall fix this mistake later….. On to the next one.

New Business Card.

For the first time I’ve printed my business cards professionally. I’ve ordered promo cards from print shops, but never the more convenient to carry around business card. I must say I am extremely delighted. I am in love with the font face I used, Neutraface. It is the epitome of sleek design.

Oil Paintings.

These are traditional nudes in oil, created during a painting class of mine. The second one was too large to complete in a three hour class and it seems I spent most of my time working on the torso.

My friend Jaime; the anti graphic design, graphic designer. I’ve recently started this painting, it’s more like a drawing with some paint on it. I’m sticking to minimal color, and ink line.
I need to lighten up the window’s black frames, they compete too much with the figure.
